Charlie The Cat Thinks…

Well it’s finally April and as the saying goes “April showers bring May flowers” and I’ll tell you what, my April started out with a shower, literally. Remember, April Fools Day is always the tricky day. I can tell you from experience there are some people who get really into it. Cal decided that this year he was going to beat out everybody with the April Fools jokes. I woke up in the warm early spring sun coming through my window when, SPLASH! A bucket of water is dumped on my head, courtesy of Cal. Then he decided to shove me outside in the cold breeze while screaming “April Fools!” to only add more to my embarrassment. (I would recommend that it’s not time for swimming just yet.) Then when I finally dried off, I sought the warm refuge of my bed. I discovered that someone had put the old whoopee cushion in it. I thought that trick was old but I guess someone else didn’t. Not to point fingers but…Cal!
I decided that that was it, I was going to get him back so when he went to take his mid-morning nap as he always does, he found his bed filled with gooey oatmeal. He spent the rest of the morning cleaning himself off. He didn’t get any rest while I slept cozily in my bed. I should have known that taking a nap during April Fools Day is not a good idea, especially with Cal around. I woke up to find both my basket and myself hanging by ropes from the ceiling! I don’t know how he did it but I have to hand it to him, he’s good.
Needless to say that the rest of day went on with Cal and I trying to outdo each other in attempts to have the best April Fools trick. One of mine went terribly wrong and ended with a poor lady covered in ink from a broken pen that was intended for Cal. Cal happened to score several more points with the old whoopee cushion, yet again. He told me that he hid it again. I have yet to find it. Just wait, I will forget about it and then find it at the most embarrassing moment. When I do find it, though, I am taking a pin and popping a hole in it!
