Charlie The Cat Thinks…

Wind, wind, wind, when will all of the wind stop? Oh my, try to say that five times really quickly. But, as I said, when will this spring wind end?
The sun has finally come out to play. So has everyone else, but this wind keeps sending everyone back indoors. I head out the door, get dust in my eyes and head back in to my basket in the sunny window. I tell you it sure is hard to enjoy the beautiful outdoors as the wind whips up. It just whips everyone’s hair into a crazy mess, including mine. That led me to thinking that it’s time to get a haircut. I know my fur isn’t that long but I feel a change coming on. I’m thinking maybe short and colorful! I’m a little tired of just plain old black and white. I’m thinking maybe pink or turquoise. What do you think?
Speaking of what you think, wasn’t the open house at the Methodist Church cool? It is a great thing that the church has been around for one hundred years. I wish I will be able to live one hundred years. Of course I might be able to, considering the fact that I have nine lives. Then again I am down to about six now; trust me, you don’t want to know. The other day when I went to go visit the church I stumbled upon a cat in the back alley way who told me that he was a hundred and two and could remember when they first built the church. I don’t think he was telling the truth, although he might have by the way he looked. I wonder how many lives he has left.
One hundred years is a long time. That fact makes you appreciate Fruita and how old it is. We have a lot of history here. Did you know that next year will be the 120th anniversary of the Fruita Times? That’s a long time for us to be in business. I am mighty proud to have been apart of a few of those 120 years.
There is a new wrinkle at the office. Stop by and sign my guest register. Ellen made a booklet for my visitors. I even have the signatures of some nice people who came from Alaska to see me. And you have to see Emma’s age 4, drawing of me. It is really great.
