Charlie The Cat Thinks…

I just have to say that I love the month of April. It’s amazing how many things happen in this month. It rains, it snows, it’s warm, it’s cold.
By the way have you seen that the ditches and canals are full of water? Isn’t that exciting?! That is a true sign of warm weather coming.
Last weekend I thought I’d go outside to enjoy the warm weather. I decided to go to Highline Lake. Surprisingly, there were quite a few people there. There were even people out in their boats. I saw one person attempting to water ski but the water must have been too cold because he got back into the boat really quickly.
I did have a good time there, though. The sun was kind and stayed out all day. I even got some excercise by walking around the whole lake. Boy, let me tell you, that lake is a lot larger than I thought it was. I was very tired when I finally got back to where I started. As the sun was set, I decided that it was about time for me to head home. That was one of the best nights of sleep that I have gotten in a long time. I’m not the only one enjoying the spring weather. There were many bicyclists coming into town. I’ve seen them all over the place riding around. Main Street has just been filled with them the past weeks. Don’t forgert that the Fat Tire Festival is coming up soon. Did you know that Fruita is known around the world for it’s great bicycling trails? The April Sunset Magazine talks about this on page 30 and 33.
Oh! I just thought of another thing that spring brings. Last weekend, Cal and I celebrated his birthday. We had fun. We ate some really good spice cake (Cal’s favorite) and spent the whole day together. I won’t tell you how old he is now; he probably wouldn’t be to happy with me. For some reason he is very age conscious. I don’t know why. I told him he should be proud of his age. Besides being one year older, a birthday makes you one year wiser! I think that we should all be proud of our age. It makes us who we are.
