Charlie The Cat Thinks…
Let’s see, April is just filled with special days. There is Earth Day, which reminds me, should I be finding a way to recycle my litter box?
I was crusing around on one of the computers at the office when the people-part of this paper was all gone. I ran across that free encyclopedia they call Wikipedia. I just wondered what the month of April was all about.
Since I’ve noticed trees trying to bud, and leaves growing back after the winter months, I found that this is right on. The Latin “aperire” (Yes, if, as a cat, I know cat language, just why would I not know Latin language?) anyway, that Latin word means “to open,” and that fits the month of April since it is the month of spring, open for new growth.
I absolutely love the yellow daffidols and those purple hycianths, oh, my!
I went on reading and found that April is “National Poetry Month.” I’ve read the complaints about farmers and ranchers burning fields in the valley. Well, they are doing nothing new because in the Finnish language, April is “Huhtikuu,” or ‘Burnwood Month’, when the wood for beat and burn clearing of farmland was felled.
I think the birthstone of April is cool, the sapphire. Blue is one of my favorite colors and many sapphires are blue.
The diamond is the precious stone of the month of April. Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if someone bought a gift for me, a diamond collar?
Then, as I continued to read, I found that the ‘birth flower’ is either the Sweet Pea, the daisy or the Tulip. I think they should keep all three.
I liked the fact that Arbor Day is in April. Wanda surely works hard to keep everyone’s attention to that day. She has been promoting the planting of trees during this month for a long time. She and Arbor Finance Group got three trees to plant in each of the elementary schools Fruita claims as their elementary schools.
Speaking of schools, I think I should mosey up to one of them to get lots of attention. Here goes.
