Wildcats stay alive in the SW League
Fruita Monument Wildcats stayed in the run for a State berth by defeating Montrose 7 – 3 Tuesday April 29.
Coach Ray McLennan knew his team was young and new. They didn’t really have any pressure except that they had a seven game winning streak in the Southwestern League. This caused pressure to keep extending this winning streak.
Followed by two losses, one to Central and one to Grand Junction, the winning streak was broken but the Wildcats stayed alive.They went to State.
The Fruita Girls’ Varsity Soccer team celebrated May Day with a win over Central, Thursday, May 1.
Julie Faber scored the first two goals for Fruita and Sarah Hensley kicked in the third making the score 3 – 2, Fruita winning.
