Charlie The Cat Thinks…

How was your Memorial weekend everybody? I had a great one. Cal and I went camping. It was a great adventure. It was a little cold and wet and the mountains have not yet shed off their winter weather. Other than that it was good. I forgot how much I enjoy sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows, making smores, and telling stories. Telling stories is always my favorite part, except when Cal tells those scary stories of his. I’m a grown cat but I still can’t help getting a little shaky when he tells the story about the Lady of the Lake or the Ghost in the Woods. Brrr…Gives me the chills. Those toasty fires always push the thought to the back of my mind though.

I wonder, have any of you been to JUCO games? It’s that time of year, baseball and JUCO! I don’t always enjoy traveling to Grand Junction, since I love Fruita so much, but since it’s not far I always go to watch the Junior College World Series. Those teams are good, let me tell you. They’re as good as the pros. The atmosphere is always great; it makes you feel like you’re at a big game. I always forget to put on sun screen and so it never fails, I get a little sun burnt here and there. I prefer the night games. Now those games really make you feel like you’re at a big time game.

This summer is going to be a good one I can tell. It has started out swell so far and I have a feeling that it’s just going to get better. I’m definitely looking forward to more camping trips and time out at the lake. I always forget how much I love summer until it’s here and then it seems that it’s gone in a flash. My advice to everyone is to savor every free moment you have. Enjoy yourself this summer, but don’t do anything foolish. And to all of you kids out there who have just got their summers kicked off: don’t just sit in the house all day long. You will miss so many fun activities, which you will regret someday.
